I didn’t do anything because I didn’t have the energy. I was crying every day.”

My name is Fatima Faizi. I’m an Afghan journalist who fled the country after the Taliban came to power last year. I have reported on Afghanistan for The New York Times, Al Jazeera, and The Guardian.
